For applicable domestic private charter flights within the 48 contiguous United States, the 7.5% Federal Excise Tax (FET) generally applies. A domestic segment fee, set annually by the IRS and charged per passenger per flight segment, may also apply.
Different rules can apply to international travel and flights to and from Alaska and Hawaii. International itineraries may be subject to local taxes, passenger charges, and other government fees depending on the countries and airports involved.
Private flights within Europe, for example, may be subject to country-specific passenger taxes and VAT on qualifying intra-European Union flights.

Fees That May Be Charged Separately

Special Event Fees
Major events can create unusually high demand for airport parking, ramp space, ground handling, and staffing. As a result, individual FBOs may impose special event fees during events such as the Super Bowl, Kentucky Derby, Formula One races, and certain holidays.
