For some its complimentary drinks and hot food, for business people it could be free wifi, comfortable seating and spacious areas to work.  For the discerning, its  showers, spa services, massage area.  Or is it to be personally escorted to your aircraft, courteous and helpful staff…or simply a combination of all of these?

The KrisFlyer Gold Lounge of Singapore Airlines offers business travellers a spacious and relaxing workspace, that includes complimentary wifi, internet workstations are located in the lounge’s outdoor area, overlooking water features and leafy vegetation. Relaxing television lounge areas are located inside.

 

Turkish Airlines, CIP Lounge is massive, covering an area of 1100 square meters. The lounge is divided into sections that seem to go on for ever.  The design is tastefully done using arches throughout, ornate decorations and even an olive tree.

There are not many lounges that boast a grand piano, pool tables, a library, super size TV screens and private sleeping rooms.  There are showers, self-service lockers for luggage storage, they even have a designated childrens play area.

JFK: Virgin Atlantic’s Clubhouse is more like a chic upmarket bar than an airport lounge.  With its extensive list of fancy cocktails, a red ball sofa an internet bar, a quiet corner and the Clubhouse Spa. The spa is a real feature and offers products and treatments from Dr Hauschka and Bumble and Bumble.  If you are a weary traveller there is a relaxation area with complimentary pyjamas and low lighting.
