“You’ve got the sun, you’ve got the moon, and you’ve got the Rolling Stones.” Keith Richards
It’s Only Rock n Roll but Dubai Likes it! February saw the veterans of rock and roll jet into Al Bateen Airport in their custom branded private jet for their first performance in the UAE in 50 years! The band flew in to perform at the Du Arena in Abu Dhabi from Paris on a jet that had the band’s infamous 40 licks logo and The Rolling Stones branded onto the side.
The concert marked the first performance of their Rolling Stones’ 14 On Fire Tour and the guys rocked it to their 30,000 strong crowd. Performing classics such as Gimmie Shelter (which just so happens to be voted the UAE’s favorite song of the band), Jumpin’ Jack Flash and Start Me Up, fans were left screaming for more. The Rolling Stones are the longest performing band in rock and roll history and set the standard for other rock veteran’s performances by exuding energy and pageantry at it’s finest as well as Mick Jagger attempting to speak a little Arabic. There’s a reason why he’s considered by many the greatest front man there ever was.
