Where is French Riviera?

The French Riviera is located in the south east of France and also includes the principality of Monaco. This is just north of Corsica and Sardinia and North West of Italy. The main towns are Nice, were we have one of our offices, Cannes, Monaco and Saint Tropez. All of them have their own harbour and access to the Mediterranean Sea. Here is a map that will show you their position accurately:

What to do in French Riviera?

The French Riviera is famous for its beaches and the luxurious resorts you can find, so you won’t have any trouble finding somewhere to work on your tan. As a popular destination, the area developed several events that can be attended throughout the year. The Cannes Film Festival for example, is a yearly event that sees the biggest celebrities walk the red carpet to watch the newest movie releases; a lovely place to be for any movie aficionado.

Monaco has another very famous yearly event with its Formula 1 Grand Prix that takes place in the streets of the principality. Since all 4 main towns in the area have their own harbour, you could consider renting a yacht to enjoy the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Our yachting partner can find you the best yachts available for the duration of your stay.

If you feel the need to exercise, you can go wakeboarding in St Tropez with Adventure Sports or hire a jet ski in Nice or even go for a walk in the Parc forestier du Mont-Boron for a beautiful view of Nice city.

If you are interested in architecture, you can head to Monaco to see the old town and the Prince’s palace or head to Nice to visit the Basilique Notre-Dame or even go to the Zitadelle von St. Tropez. If museums are more your speed, Nice has two: the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art and the Museum of Fine Arts while Monaco can entertain the whole family with its Musee Oceanographique.

On your way out you can stop for a drink in the Casino Cafe de Paris then, in the evening, you can dine in La Montgolfiere, one of the best restaurants in Monaco. Finally, why not spend your night in Nice which has bars and clubs for everyone like the Jazz Comedie Club or Le Ghost Pub and its DJs.

Where to stay in French Riviera?

The Hermitage Monte Carlo hotel in Monaco is located just above the harbour, near the Casino. It’s the perfect place to stay especially when you have hired your own yacht. Its spa and sauna are being renovated until October 2014 but you can still book a massage. Two swimming pools are available, one indoors, the other outside as well as a health club, a hair salon, a tennis court, a squash room, a conference room and a business centre.

Services include tour/ticket assistance, childcare, safe-deposit, dry cleaning, spa treatment and free access to the nearby fitness centre. Bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning, minibar, desk, safe, satellite TV, Wi-Fi and wired internet (available for a small fee) and turndown service. Each bedroom is individually furnished and decorated so that each stay can be different, or the same, depending on your tastes.

Dining options include three restaurants: Le Vistamar, le Limun and the Crystal Bar. The first is specialised in French cuisine while the other two serve only light fare.

The airports and helipads (that you can see on the map) connect the towns together faster than roads would. In the area, it is very easy to rent a helicopter and make short hops from one airport to the other even if you need to fly several times a day. Of course, if you prefer using jets, it is also possible to use them to reach any of the airports.
