For those of you who know the Fort Lauderdale lifestyle, you will know it’s all about yachting. Winterfest is an extravagant annual boat parade that travels for miles through the inter coastal waterways. Participants deck their yachts in lights, banners, Christmas trees, you name it.  All competing to be the most memorable.

To kick the Boat Parade off, The Hard Rock Seminole Hotel celebrates the weekend before with The Winterfest Black Tie Ball, presented by Moet & Chandon, and this year it was ‘glad rags on’ for the event on Saturday.

Team USA were out in full force with our lovely ladies Lori Kennedy and Adrienne Marks looking suitably elegant and Derek and Daniel looking… well just dapper!

The party leading up to the upcoming parade is celebrating its 40th year. The gala is one of the best attended yearly events in South Florida. Dress code for the ladies is glamorous long ball gowns and for the boys it’s tuxedos all the way, to enjoy a spectacular evening of dancing, fantastically presented food, delicious cocktails, live auctions, and its all in celebration of a fantastic holiday gala.  It’s Fort Lauderdales most elegant event and the highlight of the social season.

The evening started off with JM Lexus Welcome Reception where chilled Moet & Chandon Champagne slipped down nicely, the Ice Bar featured Absolut Vodka & Avion Tequila & Simply Naked Estancia wines.

There was a wicked live performance from Broadway, Glinda & Elphaba, and a special surprise from the Sugarhill Gang (remember them? well if you do, you are as old as me) it really did lite up the night.

Fidelity Investments presented a Silent Auction featuring 200+ items and a Live Auction, where we auctioned off a six passenger helicopter sightseeing tour of the Florida coastline, taking in the Everglades and the breathtaking skyline. The one hour sightseeing tour on board our beautiful EC-130 Helicopter is truly a wonderful prize.  We will let you know who won in another post.

Team USA partied the night away, and left the party happy and tired having had a lovely evening celebrating the holiday season with the South Florida community.

I think this picture says it all…..did you enjoy yourselves guys? I’m just so jealous I wasn’t there to join in the fun.  Next time…there’s always next time 🙂
