Pretty sharpish on Wednesday morning Wendy and I (our Wendy and Kim time)meet at the office on the hottest day of the year so far in the UK. It had been predicted to be warm but you can never tell with the forecast in the Uk as they are generally wrong! Well as it happens they were right and Wendy and I still had our winter wardrobe out! Big Mistake…HUGE ! (As Julia Roberts says in pretty woman). So there we were dressed for winter in a hot City Wendy having to lug around her winter coat and me dragging a bag full of goodies to pass onto our favourite clients.
We parked at the O2 as lucky me had tickets to go and see Pink that evening………. (More about that later).
Our first meeting was a great success, however; we went to the wrong number 10..( no not Downing Street silly), 10 Grosvenor Road.. A great lesson learnt always check addresses with your clients on a regular basis as they had moved to 10 ‘Lower’ Grosvenor.. Luckily it was just a short 10 minute walk down the street.
A whirl of meetings later, we headed in the direction of Covent Garden. Wendy and I both love Covent Garden and we had cleverly timed it so that we could do a client lunch there. I’ll let you into a secret, one of my favourite restaurants there is Clos Maggiori, give it a whirl sometime. As we were a bit early we decided to take a look around and see what’s occurring.
Trust Wendy, she managed to find a gold floating man, he was sitting down on an invisible chair. How on earth was he doing it?….we still don’t know!
On the way to our lunch meeting, I lost Wendy to Kurt Geiger, she said it was love at first sight…no, it’s not a man… it’s a shoe shop! She was distracted by a stunning pair of red shoes with tiny gold heels (take note Mr Courtenay, it’s her birthday next week)
Then onto our Lunch meeting at Maxwell’s in Covent Garden a lively buzzy Bistro. Great food and great company with one of our newest clients! Cheers Polly, it was great to meet you. We were enjoying ourselves that much we had to make a mad dash to our final meeting of the day!!
Wendy and I then went our separate ways for the end of the day, Wendy had to travel back to France and I went on to the O2 to see Pink on her “Truth About Love Tour”.
A M A Z I N G… Brilliant that’s all I can say… I am such a lucky lady, as I was invited into a private VIP box at the O2…(all about who you know), it even had its own toilet so no long queue’s!! With an amazing view of the stage and loud blasting music, I was in my element. The drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was electric..shame I had to drive home! Note to self, take the train next time .
If you have never seen Pink live, please go. She gave a great performance. Oh to be so talented, to sing, dance, compose and write and spin around like an acrobat whilst singing!! It was just the icing on the cake to such a successful and most enjoyable day 🙂
