Mr C and I spent the weekend in the UK as we had been invited out to dinner with friends in Broadstairs. I haven’t been to Broadstairs in ages and searched the internet for somewhere to stay coming up with what I believe to be a hidden gem. Belvidere Place really is a breath of fresh Sea air, it’s a really unique boutique hotel, individually designed with quirky, one-off pieces of furniture, spacious comfortable bedrooms with hand made cushions and stylish artworks, I absolutely loved the flag picture that hung in our bedroom made completely out of buttons. The hotel has five double bedrooms all with contemporary and stylish en-suite bathrooms.
Proprietor Jilly Sharpe was the perfect hostess, we were warmly welcomed and within moments had a G&T in hand, perfect. Breakfast was superb, an offering of fresh summer berries with yoghurt and muesli or baked figs drizzled in honey, followed by a full English or freshly baked gammon with marmalade glaze and eggs whatever way you fancied. I can honestly say it was refreshingly different, so thank you Jilly we will come again.
It struck me that Belvidere Place would make the perfect place to stay if you were travelling from Manston Airport, which is only 10 minutes drive. KLM operate a double daily scheduled service to Amsterdam 7 days a week, find out more klm.com With this new KLM service you can explore over 130 destinations from Manston via Amsterdam including New York, Dubai and Bangkok! On the other hand, Manston is a perfect starting point to take a private jet with a group of friends and go visit Le Touquet, Deauville, Lille or many other of the beautiful places in Northern France, its just a short hop across the channel and not as expensive as you may imagine.
