Lucky lucky me (Kimmy Hinson).  I’m working in our Nice Office for the next month or so, and I’ve just had the most amazing fun weekend in Nice.  What a fabulous place to be working.

There I was in an ambient little café restaurant on the Promenade des Anglais, sipping a chilled verre de vin blanc as you do, when a huge dragon passed by. Scared the living daylights out of me!! Not something you expect to see on the promenade.

Turns out to be some sort of huge Music Festival/Carnival. They shut off the whole of the promenade and had themselves one hell of a street party.

I was still there enjoying the carnival atmosphere when at 9pm a thunderous noise came down the promenade and six heavy trucks arrived, ferrying a variety of different bands.   They lined the promenade and filled the air with sweet music.  I loved the truck with the DJ and drummer, absolutely fab.

Hundreds of people were dancing on the promenade and the party atmosphere could not be ignored!  I finally danced my way back to bed at 2am.

On Sunday morning I needed a lazy day to recover from all the partying. There was a local cycle race along the promenade  and I stood on the balcony of my apartment and watched for a while until the sun got really too hot, so went for a dip in the sea to cool down. The beautiful azure blue colour of the sea was really quite deceptive, my oh my it is still quite cold.

This week on Tuesday the Tour de France is in Nice, and then between 8-12th July the famous Nice Jazz Festival is in town.  I cant wait! 🙂
