So ok I know it may seem like an excuse for a party, and you know me to be a girl who likes one! But as we had so many of our celebrity clients jetting down for the Cannes Film Festival last week, Leah and I took it upon ourselves to personally be available to mix mingle and network (no really, it is very hard work). The girls hit the red carpet and what a lot of fun it was 🙂
The Cannes Film Festival is not known for being subtle and, like the celebrities, for jewellery to stand out it has to be pretty spectacular. Which is why our new friends at de Grisogono are so good at nailing the Cannes look.
Founder and creative director Fawaz Gruosi makes a very good point when he stated, ‘What is the point of jewels being discreet?’ and being a girl who likes her bling, I totally agree.
One of the highlights is the de Grisogono party held at the beautiful Grand Hotel de Cap-Eden-Roc always one of the most celebrity-packed events of the festival. Definitely the right place to be seen wearing impressive jewels.
So there we were rubbing shoulders with the likes of Amber Heard, Cheryl Cole, Justin Bieber (not sure who let him in), Rosario Dawson, Tamara Ecclestone and the diva of the night, the stunning Sharon Stone who was surrounded by eight hunky bodyguards! Lucky girl!!
I had snapped her earlier getting off the Roberto Cavalli super yacht and giving quite a leg bombing show to the paparazzi…you go girl!
Model girl Cara Delevigne was happy posing for iPhone snaps with a bejewelled chimp necklace draped down her elegant back.
Amber Heard looked demure with little bare skin on show, but glorious long emerald and diamond earrings and Rosie Huntington-Whitely sported spectacular striped emerald and diamond earrings.
By the time good time party girl Paris Hilton arrived, there was hardly a camera flash left for her.
The next day found us lunching with our friends from Riviera Radio at the Hotel Martinez bistro, (thank you Muriel, delicious) Natalie from Gallerie Lafayette, Nicolas from Ferret Joaillier and lovely David and Brahim from Azur British Cars, lovely to meet you all. After lunch we headed up to the first floor beautiful chill out terrace as guests of de Grisogono. Have I mentioned I love their jewellery? Have I??
We love you lovely Omar thank you for the invitation. We were really spoiled with delicious fresh strawberry Champagne cocktails, glorious sunshine and stunning views, we made new friends and ‘networked’ till night fell. Lovely 🙂
Would have been rude not to have just popped down to Monaco before we headed home, where the racing drivers were doing practice laps of the circuit for the F1 race on Sunday. Deafening but very exciting at the same time. The place was heaving and security was tight in anticipation of the race, must be ten times worse on race day.
Then lovely Leah and I had a jet to catch, so bye bye lovely Cote d’Azur for now….we will be back. For the record, Sunday’s race saw Nico Rosberg in the number one spot spraying Champagne following his victory over teammate Lewis Hamilton. Never mind Lewis, better luck next year!
